Read the feature, print the T-shirt…

I’ve been busy recently writing a lot for Computer Arts magazine: on the cover of the current issue (#204) you’ll find my piece about designers setting up sidelines in everything from T-shirts and prints to badges and fridge magnets.

I also wrote a piece profiling the career paths of three creatives for the spin-off title Computer Arts Presents: The Design Career Handbook and, from the next issue of Computer Arts onwards, I’m changing over from writing the bulk of the magazine’s Output section and instead going behind the scenes to uncover the secrets of studio skills, project budgets, printing techniques and designers’ hidden lives in The Design Manual. If you ever need to ask anyone about spot varnishes, now’s the time…

On another note, my interview with Liverpool’s fantastic guitar-hammering trio Ex Easter Island Head is in the new issue of the Wire, along with my review of Sone Institute’s new album.
