Time for hcmf// again

With this year’s Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival about to start, I’ve been busy interviewing composers and artists for the hcmf// website for the sixth year running. From a typically packed programme, I’ve spoken to James Dillon, Carlos Casas, Anders Førisdal and more besides, with additional features due to posted to the site this week. I’ve also been busy behind the scenes copy-editing the festival programme, writing extra composer profiles and compiling Spotify playlists consisting of the snappiest (sub 20-minute) ‘hits’ from the line-up.

I’ve also got two pieces in this month’s Wire magazine: an essay about my adventures as an improv ingenue as part of the freedom-themed cover feature and an avant-rock round-up column in the reviews section, in which I tackle everything from Goblin to Godflesh.

And I interviewed Widow Twanky last week, but you’ll have to go and see Aladdin at Cast to read that one…
